I took some time today to shop for some new shoes. The shoes to have right now are sandals, and I especially love those sandals with thick heels. I need thick heels though, I tend to walk on my heels and need to extra support, but I also like the way they look.
Sandal heels add a little freshness to an outfit. A little more exciting than a pair of heels, but nothing as outrageous as a set of stripper heels. I haven’t found my pair yet, but once I do you’ll be sure to know!
I looked through more of the internet and I found some of my favorite finds. Enjoy!
Now I don’t know about you all out thee, but I don’t like my shorts too short on me. I’ve never been a fan of my underwear stopping where my shorts starts. I like my shorts to have an inseam of anywhere between 4-6 inches. I used to wear Bermuda shorts when I was younger a lot, but recently I’ve been shying away from them. I just recently found a nice pair of Sonoma shorts at Kohls the other day. I’d share those but the website doesn’t have the shorts up now.
For those of you who don’t like short shorts I’ve searched the Internet for some shorts that might appeal to others too!
No I’m not talking about the delicious seafood, I’m talking about new trend that has hit hemlines of dresses and the edges of shirts. There’s something about this look that I love. I think it’s the femininity to it. I’m a big fan of mixing really neutral or “tough” pieces with romantic and feminine items. For example, a floral dress I would pair with a leather jacket and black motorcycle boots. Sometimes I’ll go a little wild and wear feminine pieces together or edgy clothes together ;).
Last week I was lucky enough to go to Charleston Fashion Week for my internship. It was pretty rad. I’ve never been to Charleston and I haven’t been to a real fashion show, besides the ones held at school, until now. The whole experience was different, I was surrounded by so many people who looked amazing, and most of them knew they looked amazing. The fashion shows were amazing too. There were a few well-known designers and then a lot of emerging designers. It was really exciting to see the emerging designers, I just kept imagining how in a few years these people could be pretty mainstream! Any who, here are a few photos from the week.
Spring Break is upon us, in fact my countdown says I have 2 days 1 hour and five minutes left! This is the time of year when everyone is getting run down from school and responsibilities. Spring Break just happens to come at the best time of the year. I am lucky enough to be going away with my boyfriend to Florida! I’m so excited, we’re going to the beach and Harry Potter World! WooHoo! I’ve put together some sets of outfits, mostly ones I wish I had, for the trip.
Obviously bathing suits, a towel, cover-up and flip-flops are essential to beaching it. What are also needed are beach reads, suntan lotion, and some tunes. That pretty much sums up a perfect day at the beach for me!
Besides the beach…we are going to….THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER (and Island of Adventures)! AHHHH! I’ve been once already but I am just so excited! It’s going to be great, especially since he hasn’t gone before so I’m excited for him to experience it. I try to wear shorts or dresses, because I can move freely in them, and a cross-body bag is a must! It’s easy to carry and fits everything you need. Also needed is a camera, water and stunner shades. These all will help the day go smoothly!
My boyfriend and I also plan to spend one whole day watching all the Harry Potter movies…yeah we’re cool cats. This is an idea for a cozy night at home for those of you lucky enough to be going home to spend time with your family. Pop some popcorn, pour some wine, and settle in for a movie night.
I’m super excited to head to Florida at the end of the week! We’ll be spending 10 hours in the car together, so that’s going to be interesting. I’ll update on pictures from all the fun times, especially HARRY POTTER WORLD! As you can see, I’m very excited for that.
I love many things in life and two of them are fashion and being a fangirl. Today I decided to put those two favorite things together! I made these on Polyvore.com (which I love). Here are some of my favorite fandoms.
Doctor Who is my jam. My best friend got me into it two years ago and I have loved it ever since. If you have not checked out the show you really must soon! Everyone has a favorite Doctor, who’s yours?
Oh my goodness, last nights Academy Awards not only seemed so much fun but I think it had some of the best fashions in a long time! I just loved it, and here are some of my favorites!
Lupita Nyong’o wore Prada and looked absolutely amazing! She looked like a princess, her skirt even glimmered! I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. When she accepted her award she had an amazing speech! “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid”- Lupita. How inspiring. Below is the Miu Miu dress she wore to the Vanity Fair After Party. Also a beauty.
Jennifer Lawrence looked amazing as usual! She wore Christian Dior to the Oscars and then an amazing Tom Ford piece to the Vanity Fair After Party. I love her short hair, in fact I plan to cut my hair that short soon:)
Anne Hathaway is my other girl crush. I hardly ever think she looks bad. I even love her Gucci dress from the Oscars! Then the Viktor & Rolf dress at the after party was amazing. I love how she stuck with simple minimalist dresses. She looked so elegant.
Emma Watson always looks amazing too. She’s got great people helping her. She wore Vera Wang to the Oscars and i loved the sheer, metallic muscle top and the amazing bottom half.
When Pink sang Somewhere over the Rainbow I got chills. From the song and from the amazing red Elie Saab number she wore. It’s way more feminine than I expected her to wear but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing.
Cate Blanchett, who won Best Actress, looked breathtaking in Armani Prive. She always has the best dresses, even when people think they are bad one year two years later everyone loves it. Remember the Givenchy dress from a few years ago? I loved it even then.
The Oscars are the creme de la creme of award season and for us fashion lovers. The only sad part is that you have to another year to experience it all over again.
